Who we work with
Gaffer — trade management
The complete trade management platform. Jobs, quotes, invoices, certificates, CIS, reminders, and the inbox every enquiry we generate lands in.
Included with Flat Out, available as an add-on with every other package.
Tax Digital — accounting for trades
Making Tax Digital, self-assessment, VAT and bookkeeping, built for sole traders and small trade businesses.
We don’t do accounts. They do, they’re good at it, and they understand trades. If you need someone, we’ll introduce you.
CIS deductions and IR35 are handled inside Gaffer rather than by Tax Digital — ask us and we’ll point you at the right one.
Pulse — paid advertising
Our advertising platform, used for the paid search and social campaigns on Flat Out.
Ad spend always stays in your own account. We never mark it up.
Refer work to us
If you talk to trades all day, you’re probably watching a lot of them struggle with the same problem.
We pay a referral commission on every client who signs up and stays.
This works particularly well for:
- Accountants and bookkeepers — you already know which of your clients are quiet
- Builders’ merchants and suppliers — hundreds of the exact customers we want
- Trade associations and training providers — a genuine member benefit
- Business coaches and consultants — marketing is usually the gap
- Other agencies — if trades aren’t your specialism, send them our way
No exclusivity, no minimums, no contract. We’ll set you up with a link and pay monthly.
How the referral actually works
-
You send them to the free review, not to a sales call.
They put their website in and get a report. Nobody rings them unless they ask, so recommending us cannot rebound on you if they turn out not to be interested.
-
We tell you what happened.
You see whether they took the review and whether they signed up. You do not see their report — that is theirs.
-
Commission is monthly and it continues.
It is paid for as long as the client stays, not once on signup, because a client who leaves in month two was not worth either of us having.
-
There is nothing to sell.
No deck, no pricing conversation, no qualification. If a trade tells you their phone has gone quiet, send them a link.
Who this does not suit
We would rather say this now than three months in.
-
If you want to white-label us
This is the wrong arrangement. The client is ours and the relationship is direct — that is what makes the price work and it is what lets us say no to work that will not succeed.
-
If you want an exclusive territory
We do not do them. We work with every trade in a town, and two competing roofers on the same street can both be clients.
-
If your clients are not trades
The fit is usually poor. The whole product is built on trade economics and it shows immediately on a business that does not have jobs, quotes and callbacks.
Questions partners ask
What is the commission?
A percentage of the monthly fee, paid for as long as the client stays. Ask and we will tell you the current rate in writing before you send anybody.
Do I have to be an affiliate of anything?
No. A link, an email introduction or a phone number passed on all count. The link just makes it automatic.
What if my client already has a website?
Most do. The review tells them whether it is the problem, and often it is not — in which case we say so.
Can I refer one client and stop?
Yes. There are no minimums and nothing to maintain.
